Björn O. Nilsson, CEO IVA, is to become new head of the steering committee for the national project Sweden ScienceNet (SSN). SSN is a joint project between eight Swedish universities with the aim to, together with it’s financiers, improve the handling of applications and contracts. SSN is a joint project between eight Swedish universities; Chalmers University of Technology, Linköping University, Lund University, Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and Uppsala University. The project is led by a steering committee represented by, a part from Björn O. Nilsson, the executives from the partner universities. The over all objective is to build a national system aimed at handling applications and contracts and to support the internal work at each partner university. This is done in cooperation with The Scientific Council for Medicine (VR), Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research (FAS), the Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (Formas) and Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova). By using existing sources and by finding common definitions as well as by using a common model, SSN aims to build an analyzing tool for the universities and the research financiers as well as an information platform for ongoing projects at the Swedish universities.
The project is run by Stockholm Science City, the main sponsor is Vinnova with Innovationsbron as co sponsor.
