EU BRIDGE project enters new phase

The work on BRIDGE, an EU project, where Stockholm Science City is one of the leading partners, has now entered the second phase in the work process.

As a result of the new phase the BRIDGE model is now being tested by following a number of steering documents. Three clear and financed research projects within Regenerative Medecin is included in the model. Regenerative Medecin involves the reproduction of tissues in the body and the work will focus on the repair of joints, bones and cartilage in the kneecap and comprises competences among biochemists, technical- and medical professionals. This is a clear example of interdisciplinary achievements with representatives from academia and the business sector. Participating EU countries are the Netherlands, England, Sweden, Portugal, Germany and Hungary.

Added value for the owners

Stockholm Science City’s work within the BRIDGE project adds value for both the universities as well as the small and medium sized companies in the area. ”Among other things we can now offer each of the three universities in our area as well as the companies research course seats and increased knowledge on life science efforts within the EU. We now have an in depth model of cooperation academia – business – society within the life sciences sector”, states Teresa Soop project leader at Stockholm Science City.
