Increased EU funding for Small and Medium sized enterprises
Stockholm Science City notifies Life Science companies concerning increased EU funding FP7
Together with Uppsala Bio and Biotechvalley, Stockholm Science City holds 3 separate seminars on Life Science companies concerning increased EU funding FP7.
A larger budget
EU’s new framework programme for the period 2007-2013 (FP7) enjoys a considerably larger budget than the previous FP6 Programme (a total of BEUR 50).
Focus on SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises)
The thematic area Health/Life Sciences has been awarded very high priority with a budget of more than BEUR 6 for the period. As part of efforts to stimulate participation from SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) and public actors, financing levels for these entities has been increased from 50% to 75% for EU financing. Before the summer of 2007, Stockholm Science City will hold information meetings on FP7 and its opportunities for SMEs within the life sciences. These meetings will be implemented in cooperation with Uppsala BIO, Biotechvalley.nu and SwedenBIO. The Stockholm meeting will be held on 11 June.
