New operational emphasis

Stockholm Science City/Vetenskapsstaden has adopted a new operational emphasis and is aiming high as defined in its overall objectives. These include the goal of assisting in the creation of 5000 new employment opportunities within the Stockholm Science City/Vetenskapsstaden area by 2012, making the area an internationally recognised centre for leading edge cooperation between research and business/industry and  attracting one or more companies of more than 200 employees to the area.

Stockholm Science City/the Vetenskapsstaden Foundation’s strategic emphasis lies within the following four areas:

 1. Coordination: Functioning as a coordinating information node between the academic world – business/industry – society.

 2. Cluster building: Functioning as a natural platform for joint, interdisciplinary projects e.g. the Albano and Norra Station Area including research centres and enterprise parks.

 3. Business/industry: Working actively to establish enterprises in scientific areas.

 4. Marketing: Marketing Stockholm Science City/the Vetenskapsstaden sphere, with its breadth of research and unique geographical location, as a world class knowledge centre.
